Bal Sanskar Shivir (Summer Camp) Concluding Ceremony

At Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chandigarh, the  Shivir (Summer Camp) was conducted from 1st June to 21st June, 2025. 

Total 66 students from in and around Chandigarh registered for the shivir in which 38 girls and 28 boys took admission. Around 50 devotees & volunteers helped in conducting the classes. All children were provided with the kits containing a folder, stationary items, festival calendar, a memory book (Daily dairy) and "Surpath" bhajan book. 

Highlights of  Shibir :
1. Prarthana & Meditation in the temple 
2. Yogasanas - separate groups for girls & boys 
3. Moral stories - Lessons on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Maa Sarada Devi, Sri Ramakrishna, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Guru Nanak Dev ji & Guru Gobind Singh ji, Bhagavan Buddha, Sri Shankaracharya & Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Festivals & Bharatiya Teerthas 
4. Arts & craft - Pottery, Madhubani & Warli style painting, Paper art, stone art, Scratch & Mosaic art, Origami, Sketching & drawing, Bookmark, greeting card & envelope making etc. 
5. Pranam Mantras, Veda Mantras, Stotras & bhajans. 
6. Sundays - Ashrama Seva - cleaning temple & classrooms, watering the plants etc. Inspirational Movies like Yama-Nachiketa & Dashavatara. Group games for learning team building etc.
7. A small scale Children's library was arranged to inculcate the habit of book reading among the children.
8. Children were given daily tasks related to good habits, which they noted down in the diary and performed at home.

The Concluding ceremony of the ‘Bal Sanskar Shivir’ was held on Sunday, 22nd June, 2025 in which the students took active part by performing compering, Vedic Chanting, opening song, a short play on "Brother Madhusudan" etc. 
  •  RKM children's literature books were awarded to Best Performances in Yogasana, Art & Craft, Story Telling, Good Attendance, Bhajan Singing, Maintaining diary and  utilisation of library under the Pratibha Prakatan Program (Competitions). 
  • An Exhibition of Art & Craft prepared by Students and Faculties of BSS was also organised.
  • Speech on BSS was delivered by the Chief Guest Dr. Richa Rathi (Additional Director Higher Education, Chandigarh) & Guest of Honour Swami Tanmahimananda ji Maharaj (RKM, Shimla) and introductory speech by Swami Bhitiharananda ji.
  • All the volunteers were honoured with laminated photos of Maa Sarada Devi.
  • Parents and Volunteer were also given the opportunity to convey their opinion on BSS.
  • A 'Newsletter' based on the sessions conducted in the Shivir was also released. 
  • The ceremony concluded with closing bhajan by the students.
  • Participation certificates, laminated photos of Swami Vivekananda & Flower plants were distributed to all the students of Shivir.
  • Lunch prasad was distributed to all who attended the program.
More than 300 people attended the Ceremony including students, volunteers, parents and devotees associated with Shivir.

Auspicious visit of Most Revered Swami Divyananda ji Maharaj and Mantra Diksha April 2025

Day 1: April 9th, 2025

·Revered Maharaj arrived at 5.00 pm in the ashrama.

·Around 30 devotees along with the monastics welcomed Revered Maharaj with veda mantra, garlands and flowers.

Day 2: April 10th, 2025

Revered Maharaj’s local visits

·To Chandi Devi temple & Manasa Devi temple.

·To bird sanctuary

Day 4: April 12th, 2025

Diksha Day 2

·46 candidates were blessed with Guru Mantra.

·25 volunteers rendered service from 6 am to 12 pm.

·Around 120 devotees including dikshit devotees took khichuri & payas prasad.

Benedictory Address by Most Revered Vice President Maharaj:

·Revered Maharaj addressed his message from 6 pm to 6.45 pm.

·Around 200 devotees received the blessed words.

·Revered Maharaj kindly gave permission for group photography to all.

Day 3: April 11th, 2025

Diksha Day 1

·58 candidates were blessed with Guru Mantra.

·25 volunteers rendered service from 6 am to 12 pm.

·Around 150 devotees including dikshit devotees took khichuri & payas prasad.

Day 4: April 12th, 2025

Day 5: April 13th, 2025

·Revered Maharaj visited Kali Bari, Chandigarh on the occasion of installation ceremony of Sri Ramakrishna’s image.

·Revered Maharaj departed Belur Math at 5.00 pm from Chandigarh ashrama.

·Around 40 devotees made pranams to the Revered Maharaj.


Three Day Annual Celebrations March 2025

By the grace of Holy Trio, the three day Annual Celebration at our Chandigarh Ashrama, themed Swami Vivekananda Day, Maa Sarada Devi Day & Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Day, on 21st, 22nd and 23rd march, 2025 respectively went off very well.  Every day the program started with Lamp lighting, Vedic Chanting, Welcoming the guests with Bouquet and Introductory Address by Swami Bhitiharananda ji Maharaj. Around 250, 300 & 400 devotees attended the programme on three days respectively including 20 NCC Cadets each day. The programme was telecasted through a projector at the hall below the temple for those who couldn't get a place in the auditorium. Packed cooked prasad was served to all the devotees on all the three days.
Chandigarh edition of "Dainik Bhaskar" covered the news of all the three days.
